Hi, there! I’m Tanya…

My Story

I’m Tanya Smith, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and I’m here to share my story with you. For over 20 years, I’ve been privileged to support families in Central Arkansas in achieving their breastfeeding dreams. My approach blends the latest breastfeeding knowledge with heartfelt compassion, ensuring each family receives the personalized care they deserve.

What sets me apart? Well, it’s my calm and encouraging nature. I’m driven by a deep desire to empower parents, like you, to feel utterly confident in their breastfeeding or chestfeeding journey. I understand that this journey is unique for everyone, and I’m here to meet you exactly where you are.

Before becoming an IBCLC, I earned my B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I also dedicated my time to volunteering with La Leche League International. Beyond supporting breastfeeding families, I co-founded the Arkansas Breastfeeding Coalition in 2006 and played an active role in shaping Arkansas’ breastfeeding laws.

On a personal note, I call Benton my home, where I live with my loving husband and children. My decision to become an IBCLC was influenced by the challenges  encountered while breastfeeding my children. When I’m not assisting families or advocating for breastfeeding rights, you’ll likely find me immersed in a captivating book, enjoying tacos with friends, or floating a local lake or river on my kayak.

Tanya was a blessing to our family. She not only walked us through several obstacles to nursing, but she also emotionally supported and encouraged me over many weeks of visits and conversations. I have recommended her time and time again to momma friends and will continue to do so!
