Tanya Smith is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) providing lactation services to families in Central Arkansas. She has over 18 years of experience helping families reach their breastfeeding goals and combines the latest breastfeeding evidence with compassion to provide individualized care. Known for her calm, encouraging nature, her desire is to help parents feel confident with breastfeeding/chestfeeding. Recognizing that breastfeeding is not one-size-fits-all, she is prepared to meet you where you are in your breastfeeding journey.
Tanya received her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Prior to becoming an IBCLC, she volunteered with La Leche League International. In addition to her experience supporting breastfeeding families, she was a founder of the Arkansas Breastfeeding Coalition in 2006 and was active in the creation of Arkansas’ breastfeeding laws.
Tanya lives in Benton with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she can be found with her nose in a good book or eating tacos with friends. She is definitely a cat person but also has an affinity for llamas.
